1st Controller: Insert batteries (note polarity), then press the Guide Button while the console is on.
2nd/3rd/4th Controllers: Press the sync button on the console first, then the sync button on the controller. Wait until the Guide Button lights stabilize. (Same method applies to steering wheels.)
After console restart: Controllers disconnect automatically-just press the Guide Button to reconnect. (It acts as both power and menu button.)
